How to Check and Repair a Database in cPanel Print

Manage My Databases includes tools to check a database for errors and attempt repairs.

Check

1. Select the database from Check Database.
2. Run the check.
3. Review any reported table errors.

Repair

1. Preserve a current recoverable copy and verify that the table engine supports repair.
2. Select the database from Repair Database.
3. Run the repair.
4. Review the result before testing the application.

A successful repair does not replace a backup strategy. If the database contains important production data, preserve a recoverable copy before making large structural changes.

Back up the affected tables before any repair. Repair support depends on the storage engine: MySQL REPAIR TABLE is not an InnoDB recovery method. An unsupported-repair result does not establish that the table is corrupt.
