The HTTPS DNS record type can advertise information about an HTTPS service, including alternate servers, protocol versions, or non-standard ports.
Current cPanel Zone Editor supports a priority, target domain name, and optional service parameters. A priority of 0 selects AliasMode; positive priorities select ServiceMode. Use the values supplied by the service rather than treating zero as an ordinary preference.
HTTPS DNS records are an advanced record type and are not required simply to make a normal website use HTTPS. A website normally needs a valid SSL certificate and appropriate web-server configuration; cPanel's Force HTTPS Redirect handles ordinary HTTP-to-HTTPS redirection.
Not all browsers support HTTPS DNS records. Unsupported clients ignore the record.
