A domain can serve files from its document root or proxy requests to a deployed application. These are different serving modes, not two independent websites at the same address.
- Check the domain in cPanel to see whether an application deployment owns its web traffic.
- For an app-managed domain, use the application deployment workflow to update the app. An uploaded file in the document root may be ignored.
- For a file-served domain, check its document root and uploaded files normally.
Application deployment can leave existing files on disk. Removing the app can expose those files again, so inspect the directory before removal. Prefer an unused eligible subdomain for testing. Existing rewrite rules or handlers can interfere with application routing.
