Steps
- For a supported hosted video, insert the matching YouTube or Vimeo element and supply the video URL in its settings.
- For your own video file, use the Video element and select the file through the media controls. Prepare a compressed web-ready copy and a suitable preview image.
- Adjust the available aspect-ratio, playback, and loading settings. Keep playback controls accessible and avoid unexpected sound.
- Preview the page at different widths and check that the video fits its container without covering text or navigation.
- Save or publish, then test the public page in a fresh browser session.
Check the result
Confirm that the intended video loads and can be started and stopped. Check captions and any consent controls supplied by your site configuration.
Before you continue
An external video must allow embedding. Uploaded video consumes hosting storage and bandwidth, while provider embeds depend on that provider’s availability and settings.
