The block editor builds a page or post from individual elements such as paragraphs, headings, images, and lists.

Steps

  1. Open a page or post and select the block inserter to add the required content type.
  2. Select a block to adjust its own toolbar and settings. Use the Page or Post settings tab for document-wide options.
  3. Use List View to locate nested blocks and check their order.
  4. Apply meaningful headings and preview the layout at different widths.
  5. Save a draft for unpublished work, or review the publish/update action carefully for content already online.

Check the result

Check the public result after saving published changes, especially blocks with links or embedded media.

Before you continue

Theme styles and plugins can change available blocks and controls. Editing a shared template or synced pattern can affect more than the page currently open. Confirm the editing context before saving a site-wide change, and avoid switching to raw HTML merely to correct ordinary spacing.
