The Comments screen lets authorized users review submissions and control which appear on the site.

Steps

  1. Open Comments and filter for pending submissions.
  2. Read each comment in the context of the associated post. Inspect links before approving them.
  3. Approve useful comments, reply when appropriate, or mark unwanted submissions as spam or move them to Trash.
  4. Review selected items carefully before using a bulk action.
  5. Use Settings → Discussion to inspect the site's comment and moderation rules where you have permission.

Check the result

Open the public post and confirm that the intended comments appear and removed comments no longer do.

Before you continue

A plausible name or email address does not make a comment trustworthy. Avoid publishing private details copied from moderation screens. Changing discussion defaults may not alter every existing post's individual settings, so inspect the affected post if comments remain open or closed unexpectedly.
