Trash provides a temporary recovery location for deleted content. It is different from revisions of an existing post.
Steps
- Open Posts or Pages, depending on what was removed, and select the Trash filter when it is available.
- Find the item by title and other identifying details. Choose Restore for that item; use bulk actions only after checking every selected row.
- Return to the normal content list and edit the restored item. Review its status, URL, author, and publication date.
- Preview the content and deliberately choose the appropriate publication state. Reconnect any navigation or links removed separately.
- Check the public address if the item should be available to visitors.
Check the result
The intended item should be back in the content list with the correct visibility. Verify important media and internal links as well.
Before you continue
Trash retention can be changed or disabled. Permanently deleted items and an emptied Trash cannot be recovered through this control; recovery then depends on a suitable backup. Restore does not undo unrelated changes elsewhere on the site.
